Our Story
Crafting custom projects for your home.
I have always had woodworking in my life. My father treated it as a hobby that often accomplished many tasks not only for my family home but, for our neighbors and friends. Recently I was reflecting on this with a friend of my dad as he gazed upon the shop. He told me my dad would be impressed with what I had put together. We talked about the way my father taught me to process wood and the tools he had and how they differ from the techniques I utilize now. I feel like I've come a long way. Through years of construction experience building retail stores all around Texas. Too then built my retail establishments in the coffee industry. I learned from skilled tradesmen. I always gravitated back to carpentry. I even built tables, counters, and other millwork in my stores. After I sold the coffee business, I was looking for something new to do. My brother-in-law and I built a fence together and since neither of us had jobs I tried to convince him to start a carpentry company. After a long while I finally convinced him to give a partnership a go. We started in his garage and quickly grew out of the space.
Nowadays Clear Fork Carpentry finds itself closer to Mary's Creek than the Clear Fork of the Trinity River that we named the business after. And until I officially hire someone it is just me in the shop these days. The company's offerings have changed some over the years. Currently, we don't do outdoor structures. I still make smaller items like corn hole boards, cutting boards, and euro mount holders. I am offering classes to teach people how to do small projects and use tools responsibly. And we even have a subscription service that I am hoping people will enjoy. The shop's focus is Cabinets and Furniture. And I have fun with my "laser for hire". I use the laser and other tools to bring even more customization to gifts, games, and other items.
I look forward to bringing Clear Fork Carpentry's creations into your life.
